Ongrid Solar plant is more popular due to its lower cost & higher efficiency, thus making shorter payback period & higher savings. It doesn’t have batteries & hence power cant be stored locally. Instead power is fed to Grid, which ensures Export-Import adjustments through Net Metering Policy

Offgrid / Hybrid Solar plants do have Battery banks to store power & hence can supply power to load when grid power is cut off. While Offgrid Solar plant cant feed power to grid, Hybrid solar plants have the feature of feeding the excess power to Grid & store in battery banks as per preferences given.
